Monaco

As we walked throughout the entire length of the Country of Monaco, the first time I walked an entire country, I felt the uniqueness and pride of the Monegasque people have for their country. As we made our way towads the old part of Monaco, we saw the streets set up for the Grand Prix which would start in a couple of days. It was cool to see the course the cars would take and see the tight corners and stuff. At the top of the hill we saw the changing of the Guard at the Girmaldi Palais where the prince lives. The guards did a great job and didnt miss a beat. Kind of wish that the White House had guards that would do that sort of thing.
For lunch a group of us went to a cafe where they had a wood brick oven where they cooked our food. It was so cool and it was the best pizza I had. I drank down the pizza with a 4 euro can of Coke made in Italy. The Coke was good but definitely not worth the 4 euros. With my stomach full of expensive coke, I took a tour of the Girmaldi palais.

The Palais was amazing. It was my first time touring a palais where a prince currently resides. I saw the personal collections of the Prince from weapons dating back to the 13th century to many different art pieces. My favorite piece was a life size eagle made entirely out of crystal quartz. It was awesome. And to top off the tour, we got to enter into the throne room. It was smaller then the ones the show in the movies but very lavish. I wish I could have sat in the throne, but maybe I will another day.

When I think of money I now think Monaco. From the Monte Carlo Casino, which was really cool to enter the lobby, to the parks and gardens, everything is really lavish and expensive. Besides being raped by prices overdrinks, I loved our trip to the very expensive little Las Vegas of Europe.

  1. Italian Coke is the best Coke I have ever had. I brought several cans home from my mission.
